According to Burna Boy, Nigerian artistes signing international deals is no longer a big deal.

Just after Tiwa Savage announced her new sign in to Universal, he addressed this and called the Nigerian artistes signing these deals to be careful so that they won’t become “international victims”.

Days after he sharing his opinion, Tiwa Savage responded due to public demand. So many of her fans were angered by his comment but she came out to put out the fire.

The songstress said,

I think it’s important for artists to be 100% sure and aware of what they’re getting themselves into, especially when it comes to contracts.

Burna is 1000% correct. People took it out of context, maybe. It’s great advice to any artist. You should make sure you see your lawyers and do your personal research. It took me a year to conclude this deal.

Tiwa even confessed that before she signed in, it took her more than a year because she had turned the offer down.

Now that Universal offered a good deal that she understood, she signed in and she is grateful for this.

‘We’re still business partners’ Don Jazzy addresses Tiwa’s move to Universal

I have an amazing deal with UMG and I agree with Burna that while we’re pushing Africa to the World, we need to be careful that we don’t lose ourselves. I think that’s what he’s trying to say.

At least she cleared the air, Burna and Tiwa do not have any beef, his statement was just taken out of context.
