Travis Scott displayed his generous side as he sent a fan $800 via Cash App in tribute to his mother’s funeral on Wednesday.
Peter Valdriz took to Twitter to thank the 26-year-old rapper, who is currently giving away $100,000 to his keen listeners in a bid to promote his new chart-topping album Astroworld.
In response to the social media user’s tweet, the boyfriend of reality star Kylie Jenner shared his condolences as he penned: ‘For not much but hope can help. Ur mom looking down on ya (sic).’
Clearly in awe of the Butterfly Effect hitmaker’s actions, Peter posted a screenshot of Travis’ transaction, alongside a heart-warming snap with his late parent, who would have turned 52 on Wednesday.
The fan wrote: ‘Happy 52nd Bday Mom! Travis Scott I really want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart….still can’t believe it. Thanks again.’
Talking to TMZ, Peter revealed his mother passed away last Wednesday after a tragic brain virus.
He told the publication: ‘Knowing that someone is out there trying to help us during this difficult time means the world to us.’
‘I personally want to thank Travis Scott for really making a tough day for my family into a day we can cherish’, he added.
Travis, real name Jacques Webster, announced his $100,000 Twitter giveaway on Tuesday , where he encouraged his 3.92 million followers to share their Cash App tags with lyrics from his latest album.
The Sicko Mode hitmaker said he decided to splash the cash on his fandom because he knows it’s ‘hard for the kids.’
On Tuesday he announced: ‘SO I KNOW ITS HARD FOR THE KIDS. SO I DECIDED TO UNLOAD MY BANK ACCOUNT ON U GUYS (sic)’.
The award-winning musician, who shares six-month-old Stormi with Kylie, 20, added: ‘IM BUSTING DOWN $100,000 AND GIVING AWAY TO ANY FANS THAT CAN TWEET ME THERE CASH TAG WITH LYRICS FROM ASTRO. GANG !!’
