The “Njogereza” hitmaker revealed his intentions to become a politician in a cryptic post on social media.
Taking to Instagram, Navio hinted that he would be contesting for Member of Parliament in Rubaga division in the next Uganda general elections come 2021.
Navio shared a photo of himself with fellow musician and Kyadondo East MP-elect Bobi Wine captioned; “MCs to MPs. RUBAGA 2021.”
Navio appears to have been inspired by Bobi Wine’s victory in the Kyadondo East by-election recently.
The “Bikwase Kyagulanyi” singer, who was standing on an independent ticket, had a landslide victory garnering 25, 659 votes with the closest contender managing a paltry 4, 566 votes.
In other news, Bobi Wine, real name Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, has today, July 11, 2017, officially joined the 10th parliament.
The singer, who was flanked by his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi led a procession from his home in Magere and marched all the way to parliament as his ecstatic supporters cheered him on.
He was later sworn in this afternoon as the newly elected Kyadondo East Member of Parliament. The “Bikwase Kyagulanyi” singer took his oath at parliament amid excitement from his supporters.
