The young female rapper has decided to do a 'SoundCloud Sundays' where for a month all she did was drop a song every Sunday which was like a mini album. How does she work on her tracks?
as a rapper, I write after a beat
Her new jam Sana Sana was written in 2017 and she finally decided to record it in 2018 and release it in 2019.
Wangechi broke down the cost of making Sana Sana.
From studio time to making beats, that cost me 20,000. shooting of the video cost me 130,000 which is the heaviest part of making a song. pushing the song because marketing is very important i used 15,000 and then moving from one radio station to another and back home i think i can put 5,000 so a total of ksh180,000.
Shaffie Weru came back with some coffee for Wangechi and asked her if the Ksh130,000 is plus wardrobe and she said yes.
Well, for her, the deal will always be less because she made a smart move. Wangechi said she bought her own equipment so all she needs to make a video is lights and the director.
The rapper doesn't have to pay the director because she rents out her equipment to him and other corporate companies.
I own the equipment i use for the video shoots, so i don't need to pay Director's fee because i rent them out. which includes lenses.
Scar Mkadinali finally arrived in studio and he cracked up Adelle and Shaffie with his deep sheng and pure honesty.
He revealed that to get a collabo with Wangechi was no joke. Mkadinali jumped on the track after a long time asking and he confesses working with Wangechi has taught him a lot.
i want to thank wangechi who has put me out there. i sent her my verse after she sent me the Sana Sana track and i knew exactly what to put in.
Wangechi confessed that when he sent her his verse, she fell in love with it. She had to go back to the drawing board because the track took a good turn.
The song is pretty dope, I must say. Not just the audio but the video too. Scar Mkadinali promises that after working with Wangeci, he will now be doing more dope releases.
Now enjoy the song:
