Since the government announced last week that the first-ever coronavirus case in Kenya was confirmed on Friday, Kenyans have been unsettled.

Yesterday, President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed that two others have been tested positive which has now caused more panic among Kenyans.

Kamene and Kibe were having the discussion on The Morning Kiss and so many Kenyans tuned in to give their comments saying that they are scared.

"I am personally scared because even if you're being quarantined, you might end up affecting the whole family. I think when one person dies is when we will start taking this seriously because supper powers are taking serious measures and we, a third world are not taking it seriously." Caller number one said

Kamene who is also a concerned citizen said that Kenyans are scared because they lack information. It caught her by surprise that business is on a standstill and prices are hiking.

"I think Kenyans are afraid because of lack of information. One thing you did not see is what it is doing to Nairobi and the biashara world. The spike in prices for hand sanitizer as of like Friday into Saturday you couldn't get then they were all cleaned out, the one that shook me my mother was saying she wants facemasks and sanitizer so we spread out to look. She even sent money. Facemasks that doctors use like three weeks ago were less than 500/-. Some guy came to them and looks for masks, the masks are ksh15000 for a pack of 10. I get another chemist for not the three-ply, the guy tells me ksh20,000. I got another guy online and bought a box 50 masks for ksh3500/- and 5-liter sanitizer." Kamene said

Adding that she is even more concerned being at work.

"I was so concerned when I walked in because the same controller is used by like 7-10 people because everything I touch has so many other people using them. They are saying when you touch something sanitize"  She added

Kibe tried to shut down the story saying that masks and sanitizer is not really a means to stop the problem.

"I thought you guys are educated. Do you want to tell me you'll live alone? We had paid school fees and budgeted that the next time you are seeing your children is in three months. Now they are home budget has changed" Kibe added

Another caller called in saying that they are scared because they are not sure what the government is saying is pure truths.

"The government needs to stop lying to us because we have a government has been lying for the longest time. Coronavirus has been here longer than we think. They may have told us it is three people only but because of their tendencies, we are a bit skeptical." Caller number two said.

The government has said that Kenyans should remain more vigilant in taking care of themselves first because that will help reduce the chances of the spread.

The most important thing they said is that there is no cause of alarm, but people should be careful.
