Jowie, real name Joseph Irungu is not behind bars anymore. He was released on Thursday morning on a Sh2m cash bail over the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Jowie who was also given an alternative bond of Sh3m by a Milimani Law court.

Making the ruling, Justice James Wakiaga said there are no compelling reason to deny the accused bail.

Irungu was treated as a prime suspect over the killing of Monica, who he is said to have been in contact with on the day of the murder.

Monica was found in a bathtub in her Kilimani apartment with her hands and legs tied and her throat slit. He was arrested four days after Monica’s body was discovered while TV journalist Jacque Maribe was arrested three days after his arrest.

Well, Jacque Maribe's friend Dennis Itumbi has welcomed Jowei to freedom in a tweet that read;

Welcome to the free world Jowie. Being granted bail was long overdue. We will continue praying that justice is done for all, the late Monica, Jacque and yourself.
