The manager has since responded defending himself and alleging that Wendy Waeni was reading her lies off a script that was meant to discredit him.
Now Wendy Waeni's mother has spoken and she has addressed the issue regarding her daughter and manager and her life in general with regards to assumptions they make about the income her daughter is earning:
PEOPLE KEEP ASKING ME ‘WHY ARE YOU STILL STAYING IN THAT HOUSE (SINGLE ROOOM) YET YOUR DAUGHTER IS KNOWN ACROSS THE GLOBE?
This question is one she is met with often because she and Wendy still reside in a one bedroom house in Huruma Estate.
As for what her agreement was with Joe Mwangi, she said,
HE (JOE) TOLD ME HE WOULD BE TAKING HER FOR SHOWS TO PERFORM AND ONCE SHE BECOMES POPULAR, HE WOULD WORK WITH HER.
When she was informed of all the places Wendy would be lucky enough to grace, she asked Joe about monetary compensation:
I ASKED HIM ‘ALL THESE PLACES YOU’VE BEEN TRAVELING TO DON’T YOU EVEN GET A GIFT ?’ BUT HE TOLD ME ALL THIS TIME HE WAS JUST MARKETING WAENI TO THE WORLD AND THERE WAS NO MONEY THEY WERE MAKING.
And when Wendy went on national TV to expose Joe, she has been faced with some difficult conversations:
AFTER WENDY EXPOSED HIM, AMENITISHIA (HE THREATENED ME AND NOT ME, THAT WHOEVER ADVISED US TO GO FOR AN INTERVIEW ON CITIZEN TV SHOULD HELP WENDY. HE ALSO SAID HE DOESN’T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH HER.
