Media personality Kamene Goro has clapped back after being attacked for washing Omena with soap before cooking.
For the better part of this week, Kamene has been a trending topic after her video washing Omena went viral.
The virality of the video forced the former Radio host to clap back at those who were bashing her over the act.
“Still pressed about the Omena, na baby girl ako by the beach, Read that again,” Kamene Goro said.
On June 14th, Kamene Goro caused a stir online after she shared a video of her washing omena (Silver Cyprinid) with soap.
In the video, Kamene is seen using a supposed hand wash, rubbing through the omena in a basin as she adds water to it.
"Wow, it smells so nice," Kamene said, while others in the room were dismissing her move.
Kenyans did not take the gesture lightly.
A Twitter user by the name of Bravin said, "Kamene washing Omena with soap and disinfectant before cooking them for her husband is one of the reasons you should all pay attention when we tell you about red flags."
Another one recounted how he washed Matumbo with soap.
"Kamene Goro washing omena has reminded me of my days on Campus. I remember using soap to wash Matumbo I had stolen from a dead cow within the school neighborhood."
Omwamba on the other hand said that omena should be given the respect it deserves.
"Where are we heading as a country? Let's give Omena the respect it deserves!"
