Kenyan singer and songwriter Brandy Maina through her socials has promised to call out women in the music industry who've made it a habit to bully others.

Taking to her Twitter account, the artist revealed that a section of females in the music industry is the main reason why her breakthrough has taken long to come.

Brandy highlighted that once she started doing media tours she would call out the said individuals by name. She also added that she wasn't the only female artist to suffer under their hands.

"When I start doing media tours, I must talk the truth about women in this industry who have made it so hard for other women like me to come up... I must!" Brandy's tweet read.

In a previous interview, Brandy opened up on things in her life that have changed since she stepped into the spotlight.

Highlighting that the fame now sort of restricts her life to some extent. She however acknowledged that it has also opened more doors for her.

"Almost everyone recognizes me now, I can’t just go anywhere without people noticing. However, the opportunities have been tremendous and now I am able to work with more corporate companies," Brandy revealed.

The young artist went on to add that fame has taught her to discern people she hangs out with as some don't mean her well and just want to ride her coattail.

"So many people are around you; wanting to be close to you, some feigning friendship.

You have to be able to discern who is true and who isn’t. This is why I am always very aware of my surrounding and the people I allow into my life and space," said Brandy.

She finished off by revealing her career plans to collaborate with huge international acts.

"I just want to have a very significant collaboration outside Kenya. Like with one big international artist." Brandy said.
