South African rapper Kiernan Forbes known by his stage name AKA was shot dead on Friday night outside Wish restaurant in Durban, South Africa.

The rapper was shot in the head at close range a few seconds after hugging his friend Tebello Motsoane who was also killed during the shooting.

A prophecy made on May 2nd, 2021 has now gone viral. The prophecy was made by political journalist Ahunna Scarlet Ejiogu on Twitter.

"God says: South African Rap artiste, AKA should beware of a gunshot that will take his life. He should avoid mafia friendships and gatherings or else he'll become a target #SouthAfrica," it read.

After AKA's death Scarlet tweeted; "Sad Prophecy Fulfilled. #RIPAKA May his soul rest in peace."

Hours after AKA's death, his parents Tony and Lynn Forbes described him as a loving son.

"It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10, 2023. We are awaiting further details from the Durban Police."

"To us. Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was a son and brother. grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, most importantly father to his beloved daughter Kairo. To many, he was AKA, SUPAMEGA, BHOVA, and the many other names of affection his legion of fans called him by. Our son was loved and he gave love in return."

The family further asked for space during this trying time.

"In this time of grief, we appeal for your compassion, space, and time to congregate as a family to decide on the upcoming days. We thank you for the love and support we have received thus far and ask you continue to keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord."
