Chris Brown booed at America's Music Awards ceremony

Award winning RnB singer/actor, dancer and entrepreneur Chris Brown was treated to a rude shock on Sunday evening during the annual American Music Awards ceremony after a section of attendees booed their lungs off as he bagged the male RnB artist of the year award.

Luckily he was in absent from the venue as his performance at the show was canceled at the last minute.

Chris Brown's absence from the show came as a huge surprise, as he had been scheduled to perform a Michael Jackson tribute song on the night. The performance was canceled without a reason being publicly shared.

This seemed to displease a lot of fans who were torn as to what might have transpired.

Yesterday evening during the live broadcast of the award show there were clear audible boos from the audience at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theatre when the gorgeous presenter for the evening Kelly Rowland took to the stage to announce that the 33-year-old had scooped the Favorite Male R&B Artist trophy.

Kelly who was accepting the award on behalf of Chris asked the booing crown to chill out as she went ahead to congratulate her friend.

"Excuse me, chill out." A clearly annoyed Kelly told the unruly crowd.

Accepting Chris's award she said, ""Chris Brown is not here tonight, so I'm accepting this award on his behalf.

I wanted to tell Chris, thank you so much for making great R&B music and I want to tell him thank you for being an incredible performer.

The former Destiny Child's star went on to add, "I'll take this award—bring it to you. I love you. Congratulations. And congratulations to all the nominees in this category."

Following news that he wouldn't be performing Breezy took to his Instagram to share a video of him doing rehearsals to the late Michael Jackson's 1982 hit song "Thriller."

He captioned the video, "U SERIOUS?"

In the comment section he went on to add, "would have been the AMA performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown," adding a shrugging emoji.
