Veteran artist Wahu Kagwi has come out to address her body shamers a day after her teenage daughter, Tumiso called out the trolls out and asked them to leave her mom alone.

Following this, the "Sweet Love" hitmaker took to her socials to shame society for the unrealistic standards that they put on women to always look a certain type of way.

Wahu also expressed her disappointment over the fact that the work she was doing to help the creative industry had just been ignored and people chose to focus on her new mom weight.

ย

"So yesterday I posted a picture of myself during the 1st joint committee meeting under the Talanta Hela initiative, saying how excited I was about where we're going....but, what took precedence on that is the amount of weight that I've gained," started off the mother of 3.

Wahu went on to add that she was shocked that most of the distasteful comments she was receiving were coming from women. A point Tumiso had also highlighted.

"Sure i, have added a lot of weight...22.5kgs to be exact ๐Ÿ˜„ actually, for those who know me, I always add weight when pg. with Tumiso I added 27kgs.

ย

But I wanted to draw your attention to...in the 1st couple of minutes of the post.. there were quite a number of distasteful comments. Unfortunately, many of these were by women.

These were overtaken by overwhelming number of +ve comments, again, majority being by women, a classic case of good outweighs the bad...so much so that majority of the "shamers" ended up pulling down their comments."

The celebrated artist added that no one would make her detest her post pregnancy body as she encouraged netizens to learn to stop being so bitter online.

She also sent a message of love and encouragement to anyone who has ever been a victim of online bullying especially due to their physical structure.

"Clearly, more and more of us are leaning towards positive vibes on social media, and I thank you for this๐Ÿค—

Secondly, to anyone whose ever been body shamed, remember, what the shamers say is not a reflection of you ... it's really a reflection of the quality of person they are.

Wewe uko tu sawa...so don't take it their negativity to heart ๐Ÿ˜" Wahu's post read.

She finished off by clarifying that this wasn't a rant and she was not upset with the said netizens, it was more to encourage people to lean towards positivity.

"Just for the record, I'm not posting this because I'm upset..ziii....unajua, ukijijua, not many external things can get to you...I'm sharing this for us to take note that there is hope for a more positive living environment and also to encourage anyone who's been a victim of any kind of hate otherwise laleni fiti " The last of her post read.
