Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage

Nigerian songstress/ actress and songwriter Tiwa Savage has just revealed that she is saying bye-bye to Afro Beats and embracing her old love, RnB for her new studio Album.

The news comes as a surprise to her fans as Tiwa has been rocking the airwaves for years on end with her upbeat Afro beats hits to the extent of being dubbed the Queen of Afro beats.

But now it seems, the queen verily feels it is time to retire the crown and hop onto a more mellow and chilled genre for her next musical phase.

While speaking in an interview with Dotty Show on Apple Music, Tiwa revealed her next album is going to be fully traditional R&B as she intends on going back to her first love.

The songstress made the revelation after she was asked if about the possibility of a new project before her November show in London. Confirming she was working on new music, the songstress said she intends to release a couple more singles as she's taking her time to prepare for her next album.

"I want to take my time on my next project. My next project is going to be RnB, my first love.

And it is not RnB Afro beats, it is just completely purely RnB. And everything is about... you see how every song I do has elements of what I have been through in it?

This one it's just like deep... my next project is deep," the 'Koroba' hitmaker said.

On whether she had any collaborations on the Album Miss Tiwa was quick to say no but she however did add that she wasn't completely sure if things would remain that way.

"No... I will not but I don't know. Maybe closer to when I'm done but for now it's all me and it is deep," the songstress said.

Tiwa last released a project in 2021 which was the 'Water & Garri' EP that delivered the hit single 'Somebody's Son' featuring American award-winning veteran artist Brandy.
