Kenyan musician Nyota Ndogo and her Dutch husband Henning Nielsen are expecting their first child together.

Taking to her socials, the 42-year-old 'Watu na Viatu' crooner announced the fantastic news by sharing a photo of herself happily holding her bulging baby bump while rocking a green flowing dress.

Interestingly enough she did not accompany the pic with a caption at all, which is unusual with such reveals.

This will be the couple’s first child together, the little bundle of blessing coming in 7 years after they got married.

Nyota Ndogo already has two kids from a previous relationship, a teen daughter named Barka, and a son Mbarak whom we rarely see. Her hubby Henning has three children and grandchildren.

The news comes as a surprise as in previous interviews the veteran singer had revealed that her hubby was not looking to expand their family as they were aging and already have 5 kids together.

Nyota added that her husband was intent on them retiring and touring the world not baby sitting while at their old age.

"We talked about having children, he said we have five of them, we don’t need another one.

"By five children, he meant my daughter and son, and his own three children. He then argued that he is an adult, with grandchildren. He said, ‘I want when I retire and come to Kenya, we travel all over the world, and not baby sitting," the artist said during a past interview.

In a past interview, the singer said she has always had problems getting pregnant and that if it was up to her, she would have given birth every year.

She added that after giving birth to her firstborn son, it took her seven years before she conceived again.

Fans flocked to her comment section sharing in the excitement of her new addition while immensely congratulating her.
