TerryAnne Chebet reveals why she quit her first job as a makeup artistΒ

Entrepreneur and media personality TerryAnne Chebet is opening up about her first side hustle before she blew up and why she never fully went into it even though she was passionate about it.

The business news anchor divulged that she used to be a makeup artist back in the early 2000s before the profession gathered popularity.

She noted that back then, even though she was a junior TV producer she was super ambitious and wanted more with life. So she decided to pursue being a makeup artist as not only was it fun but it also helped her make money.

Walking down memory lane, TerryAnne shared a photo of a boldface beat she had worked on. She went on to share how she was inches away from fully capturing the exact look she was going for. According to her looking at the photo took her back to when she used to work on people's faces.

"Nya Lang'o. Did my own makeup up and it feels close to what I want it to look like. How many marks do I get? πŸ’―? πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ"Β said the mother of two.

TerryAnne went on to share with her fans a experience as a MUA noting that back then most people did not take one seriously if they said they were a makeup artist, even on set.

She lamented over how she was always surprised at how people casually dismissed the profession.

"It is in times like this I'm reminded that my first side hustle was as a Make - up artist ( 2003-2005) I was a junior TV Producer who wanted more, it was fun, I made some money, grew my networks, and still in awe that at that time not many people took you seriously when you said you were the make up artist on set," wrote the journalist.

Finishing up she expressed how happy she was to see how much the profession had grown over the years and how makeup artists were a big deal these days and had a career that could sustain them.

"I'm so glad to see how that has changed through the years!

So proud of every single make up artist investing in themselves, building their brand and in making others feel and look beautiful! πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―" Chebet shared.

Before adding that she had been teaching herself makeup looks from reels shared on Instagram.

"My teacher is IG videos πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ™ƒ" the last of her post read.
