When Kiss100 attended the launch of Sol Family season two, Sauti Sol and the Executive Producer, Eugene Mbugua promised they will be delving deep into their lives.
True to their word, we have gotten to learn so much of their personal lives including about a restaurant Kays Kitchen, that Chimano and a good friends had opened but suddenly forced to shut down owing to the pandemic.
"It was difficult to control the number of people coming in. It was stripped town in five hours. I can say I tried and the dream is not over yet, when we get back our footing, we will try it out again and reopen." Chimano shared
In the next scene, we see the new Sauti Sol father Polycarp aka Fancy Fingers and BenSoul share a deep brother moment. Seated near a fireplace they talked about fatherhood and the importance of having a father figure.
"Men do not talk about things and most of the time we are all going through deep stuff. When you're about to have a kid, you have fears like will you be able to provide for your family enough you feel like you have to work extra hard. It is unconditional love like never before. In our times, our fathers were physically present but not emotionally present. " Polycarp said
Bensoul added saying that he never had such a moment with his father but it came with a blessing, music.
"I do not remember a time I sat down with my father and had deep conversations. He used to walk in and we all duck, you just never know when and where the fight will come from. But it made me learn music. I loved the guitar and I wanted to play for everybody and I made it."
