Details have emerged on the amount of money Nigerian singer Ruger was paid to perform in Meru, Kinoru Stadium over the weekend.

The Dior hitmaker was flown into the country as the headliner of the Walker Town Festival organized by John Walker and the YDX agency.

According to Nation’s Sinda Matiko, the star was paid at least Sh3.6 million with the timetable indicating that he will be on stage for 1 hour 30 minutes.

However, the Girlfriend maker did not live up to the expectations of revelers who had turned up to have a good time at the concert.

He only performed for 38 minutes and most of the time he was off-key, struggling to match the playback of his trendy songs.

A section of revelers who graced the concert took to social media to lament about the performance.

Many argued that they expected a stellar performance from the star but he was a big disappointment.

Those who graced the show lauded Kenyan acts among them Sol Generation signees Nviiri the Storyteller and Bensoul and Rapper Femi One for dominating the night.

Over 3, 000 people grace the concert, some traveling from Nairobi to Meru. Tickets for the concert retailed at Sh1, 000 for advance and Sh2.500 for VIP.

The concert also featured several local Deejays who kept the crowd up on their feet before artists started showing up on stage.

“KENYA!!!🇰🇪🇰🇪 y’all filled up a stadium for me in Meru 🤯. Thank you so much 🙏🏾 I love each and every one of you. Thanks to @johnniewalkerke for bringing me to You 🙏🏾 Big respect to @djayxero for dem magical spins,” Ruger posted after the show.

Ruger landed in Kenya after staging another performance in Tanzania. After the Kenyan concert, he left for South Sudan where he is set to headline another show over the weekend.
