Tanzanian singer Zuhura Othman Soud stage name Zuchu has become the first East African female artiste to earn a nomination in the prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs).
The Sukari hitmaker has been nominated in the Best African Act category alongside Burna Boy, Black Sheriff, Ayra Starr, Tems, and Musa Keys.
A thankful Zuchu shared the good news with her over million followers on Instagram – celebrating the huge milestone with lots of excitement.
“Tanzania stand up your girl is nominated on the @mtvema God is good niseme asante ni kwa sababu yenu ndo mimi niko hapo nawapenda sana . “I’m coming back with a better caption cos right now am still shaking let me calm down first,” Zuchu announced.
WCB President and Zuchu’s boss Diamond Platnumz joined the conversation asking fans to vote for his signee.
“Voting Time, Let's Goooooooooo! 🔥🚀,” Diamond Platnumz shared.

The EMA awards is an event held annually to honor artists and music in pop culture and is sponsored by Paramount International Networks.
This year's event will be held in Düsseldorf on 13 November 2022.

Last year, Nigerian star Wizkid won the Best African Act, beating East Africa’s only representative Diamond Platnumz, South Africa’s Focalistic, Tems (Nigeria) and Ghana’s Amaarae.
WCB signee and Next Level CEO Rayvanny made history becoming the first African act to ever perform at the MTV EMAs main event. Korean pop sensation BTS and British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran were the big winners at the prestigious awards.
BTS won the most awards, including Best Pop, Best Group, Best K-Pop and Biggest Fans, while Sheeran won Best Artist and Best Song for “Bad Habits.”
