Kenyans on Twitter are calling upon President William Ruto to consider retaining outgoing Tourism and Wildlife CS Najib Balala.
This after the vetting committee rejected Tourism CS Peninah Malonza due to her lack of administrative knowledge of the office.
On Tuesday, Majority leader and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa said that the rejection was was not an act of vindication of her suitability to hold public office.
"Honorable Speaker, the Committee in considering this particular nominee... we do state that the nominee did not demonstrate knowledge of topical administrative and technical issues touching on the Ministry of Tourism and Heritage," he said.
He added "Consequently, the nominee lacks requisite ability and experience to serve as a Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage."
Following the announcement, KOT made Balala a trending, many lobbing for the President to retain him in the Tourism docket.
