Comedian MCA Tricky is going global. The funny man told Mpasho FM's Kalondu Musyimi that he will be doing a comedy tour in Rwanda, where he has a legion of fans.

He added in the interview October 31 that;

"Naenda Rwanda kupiga comedy. I have been invited. There is a very big show there. I will be representing the country there."

MCA Tricky it's an added advantage that Rwanda recently introduced Kiswahili, which is a good thing for Kenyan comedians.

Tricky added that it was a reciprocal effort as Rwandese counterparts toured the 254 earlier this year.

'I was also their guest comedian in Kenya. The Rwandese living in Kenya came together."

He added this is one way for integration and understanding.

"It's a high time our Government addressed this issue of language. I have sat down and noticed these issues. And it's not just comedy, that's killing the expansion of our musicians. And not only art even other dimensions in Kenya .

Why? We have been growing with this motto of grow and learn Kiswahili. It is good yes, but I don't think Kiswahili should be our national language. Kiswahili should be our native language."

Explaining his thought process, MCA Tricky continued arguing that

"Tujivunie Kiswahili but let's raise our kids to grow speaking a language that is universal. If I'm doing my craft here in Kiswahili, my craft will stay around itajulikana tuu hapa Kenya na Tanzania.

So you can imagine MCA Tricky ni brand kubwa in Kenya but whatever I'm doing haiconnect na Nigeria, because of language barrier."

Tricky noted this is perhaps why Nigerians are doing better globally compared to East Africans owing to language.

"They do shows in UK and connect better. So that's why I'm saying let's start with English as the national language , and Kiswahili as the native language."

Otile Brown was recently in the news after making similar comments.

Breezy was in the US on a musical tour of 15 states and weighed in on the topic. He trended and elicited sharp reaction from Kenyans.

MCA Tricky agreed with Otile saying; "Let me give you a very practical example. Kenyan artistes, they are very talented more than these Nigerians, and yet they flood Kenya.

Eric Omondi is right when making noise. The root cause si language barrier. Why is it that Nigerians don't ask for Otiles songs?"

He continued "Coz Otile 80 per cent of his music is Kiswahili. wataimishaje Otile Brown? Why is it that Diamond haezi fika levels za Burna Boy?"

Trickly said people elsewhere are struggling to hear and understand Kiswahili; "They only enjoy the musicality but language barrier."

He gave the example of how Kenyans enjoy Amapiano but assures the at won't last. He insisted the Government need to address this important matter.

He wants Kenyans to cultivate the use of English to connect better and faster with worldwide fans.

"I think the war Eric is wagging against whoever he is doing it to is a war that should be well thought . According to me he is doing the right thing, but I don't think akma a amekaa chini akajiuliza the better way of doing it that's the difference now."

Adding

"What Eric Omondi is addressing is a huge thing. Yeye anaguza guza the tip. Eric is saying that we should play 75 percent of our music but that is not a solution to the problem.

The problem here is why is it that people are attending gig za Nigerians and not za Kenyans? No, the solution should be how are we handling this issue of hii Kenyan music yetu mbona haichezwi? Na shida si wasanii wetu. Shida ni nyinyi audience."

His solution was that the Kenyan audience should tell local musicians what they want to hear so that they go back to the studio and make music Kenyans want to hear.

"An artiste is not a perfect si angel si malaika and creativity reaches a point where they need help , so let's be patient with artistes," he finished.
