Nigerian superstar Davido is allegedly set to make his first public performance after his son's death at the 2022 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony.

The report has gone wild after Hong Kong businessman, Stephen Hung took to his official Instagram page to announce the news to his over 609 thousand followers.

Sharing on his Insta stories the businessman excitedly stated that he couldn’t wait to see Davido as he confirmed that the artist had agreed to grace the closing ceremony.

 
 
 

"So happy my bro Davido confirmed that he will be performing at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. I can’t wait to see him there,” Stephen's post read.

According to reports making rounds online, Davido will perform the Qatar World Cup song “Hayya Hayya (Happy Together)” alongside Trinidadian singer Cardona and Qatari singer Aisha during the closing ceremony, which is scheduled for Sunday.

 
 
 

The singer has been keeping it low-key and hasn't been seen in public since he lost his son in October this year after the young child drowned in the family pool.

Their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke had just turned 3 years. He'd celebrated his birthday a few weeks before his death.

Ifeanyi who had been left back at home, under the care of his nanny and other domestic staff members was submerged in the pool for some time before being found and taken to the hospital.

Davido and his fiancée Chioma were away at a family gathering in Ibadan when the tragedy happened.
