Top African Comedian in Nairobi for Laugh FESTIVAL

The 4th Edition of Laugh Festival will be going down tonight at KICC, Nairobi and top African Comedians have landed in Nairobi Just for that.

On Saturday, Mwalimu Churchill held a Press Conference to let comedy lovers know that they are prepared to make them laugh.

The presser was graced with top acts expected to perform at the 2022 Laugh Festival. Those who were present include; Salvado, MCA Tricky, MC Jessy, Comedian Mitch, Celeste Ntuli, Q Dube, Loyiso Gola, and Oga Bachelor among others.

"The message here is uniting Africa through humour. Comedy has really developed, we started it was all tribal, then we crossed over to mimicking politicians and now this new era is about storytelling and skits like what Crazy Kenner does," he noted.

"These are some of the finest comedians we have in Africa at the moment. This show won’t be broadcasted on your local TV station because it shows a new era of how we are going to communicate.

"We want to place comedy as a premium product because people are moving from offline to online and so that gives an advantage to content creators and moving forward content will become a currency,” Mwalim Churchill expounded.

Churchill noted that Laugh Festival took a break during the pandemic but now it’s back bigger and bigger with an even more exciting season in 2023.

"The laugh Festival 4th edition and next year it’s gonna be bigger and we hope you will join us too.  Today we start a beautiful journey from Africa after the Covid break and so Karibuni sana laugh festival 4,”

During the Saturday Presser, Churchill also praised other comedians who also have their planned comedy shows.

He saluted comedian Mammito Eunice for her tonight's show dubbed Mammito and friends, Abel Mutua for his Sunday gig The Jyuuce Party, and Captain Otoyo’s Our Father who laughs.

“There is growth in standup comedy and it's quite unfortunate that will not have Mammito on stage but she also has a show called Mammito and Friends. I spoke to her Yesterday and I hope atamaliza yake mapema and join us later. It’s very important when you see all these comedies shows happening because that is how we grow.

“Also Abel Mutua has his show tomorrow at Nairobi Cinema and also Captain Otoyo will be having a show so let's give them support,” Churchill noted.

All the comedians said that they are ready for Laugh Festival 4 and Kenyans and comedy lovers should show up in large numbers.
