The court has declined to grant orders to the DCI to obtain footage from Bob Morgan security relating to former CS Matiang'i's home raid.

Magistrate Wandia Nyamu has instead directed the parties to appear in court on March 7 for an interparty hearing before the court can decide if it will grant the orders.

DCI had sought to extract CCTV footage of the estate around the home of the former CS.

The officers said they are investigating a case of robbery with violence and wanted the court to grant them orders to extract the CCTV footage from several security companies with CCTV in the estate.

They have since secured an order issued on February 10 compelling Amsec Security Services to give them footage of that night.

They also filed a new application on Tuesday seeking to compel Bob Morgan Security to also give them the footage.

In the application by Chief Inspector Eunice Njue, the DCI wanted the court to also order the release of the footage.

“This court be pleaded to issue an order compelling the manager of Bob Morgan Security to allow DCI cyber forensic expert access and extract of CCTV footage for the period February 8 from 6 pm to February 9 midday captured by CCTV installed and controlled by the security firm, the application reads.
