Media personality Janet Mbugua is among the nominees in the various categories at the Ladies in Media Awards (LIMA) 2022.

The award seeks to acknowledge, honor, and celebrate Africa’s best female talent in the media who continue to have a positive impact on the media and society at large.

It features 18 categories and more than 50 nominees from across the continent with the award gala set to be held in Ghana on March 25, 2023, with the nominees from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe expected to grace the event.

The nomination list also features several celebrities and accomplished media personalities listed on the website who are among Africa's finest.

Taking to her social media account, Janet shared a photo sharing a panel on storytelling, activism, and women in media/ entertainment.

She was in the company of Actresses Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy, Film Director Nasha Ganatra, Singer-Songwriter Santi White, and Author/ Activist Ruchira Gupta.

"To hosting a Tandika Leso breakout session, Meeting the incredible team at @thepadproject, Melissa, Sorelle, Nicolette, and others, Standing next to a poster of Wangari Maathai in L.A…The Gender Justice Summit opened up conversations around critical Social Justice issues, where students, faculty, and parents collaborated to further bring change through conversation and art," she wrote.

She also thanked everyone at Oakwood High-school in Los Angeles for convening the necessary and inter-sectional Gender Justice Summit

"And allowing us to speak our truth to power."

  8. Carol Sonie-Female Influencer of the Year.
  9. Lizz Ntonjira- Africa Female Author of the Year
