Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine took to Instagram to announce his intention to visit Africa to film a music video.

This comes after the rapper promised his fans that he would film a music video for one of his songs in Africa.

The rapper explained to his fans in a video that he has not shot anything yet because he is having difficulty acquiring visas for his videography team.

“Today is Monday, April 10th at 6:54 PM. I promised you guys a music video this Friday, April 14th. Till this time, till this time till now, I have not shot anything. I haven’t recorded a single scene for the music video and that’s because I have to go to Africa while waiting for a visa,” explained 6ix9ine.

6ix9ine informed his fans that he will not be able to release the song on April 14th as promised but he will not abandon his plans to travel to Africa.

"Realistically I won’t make that date BUT as soon as I start filming I won’t stop and give it to you whatever date I finish," the caption read.

He also revealed that he will have to travel to Africa without a camera crew and shoot the video with an iPhone.

"I’m on my way to Africa to film a music video with no camera team," 6ix9ine disclosed.

It's not the rapper's first time shooting a music video with an iPhone.

The video for "Bori," his latest collaboration with Cuban singer Lanier, was shot entirely on an iPhone. The video has garnered 18 million YouTube views in the last eleven days since its release.

In 2018, Tekashi was arrested for racketeering, attempted murder, and possession of illegal weapons.

He pleaded guilty but his sentence was shortened to two years after he testified against members of the Nine Trey Gangsters gang which operates on the East Coast of the US.

Meanwhile, 6ix9ine recently spoke openly about his gym assault, denying that he staged the beating for dominance. “I don’t need to beat up to sell records,” he said during an interview earlier this month.
