CNN newscaster Larry Madowo was almost caught up in a shooting incident early this week in Florida.
The Monday shooting took place along the Hollywood Sidewalk where nine people were shot.
Police have launched a manhunt for 3 suspects they believe could be behind the attack.
"We were at a restaurant on the Hollywood Oceanfront Broadwalk in Florida when a shooting happened down the street.
I took this picture as we ate. We could have easily been part of US gun violence statistics if we weren’t so hungry & picked the 1st spot," Larry told on his Twitter account.
The US was observing Memorial Day, and citizens were outdoors enjoying the sunshine.
Larry added

According to a published report on CBS, on Monday, May 29, gunfire erupted along a beachside promenade in Hollywood, Florida.
Two men who police believe were involved in the shooting have been arrested, and investigators are looking for three other people who could be connected to the incident, a police spokesperson said Tuesday.
The shooting happened on the Hollywood Oceanfront Broadwalk near a convenience store, a Ben & Jerry's ice cream store and a Subway sandwich shop. Police spokesperson Deanna Bettineschi said four children between the ages of 1 and 17 were hit, along with five adults between 25 and 65.
Larry eulogized the youngest victim.
"You can never be too careful. But a really nice beach and boardwalk otherwise. One victim of the shooting was a 1-year-old"
