Award-winning Tanzanian singer Ali Saleh Kiba alias Alikiba has officially unveiled his own Radio and TV station dubbed Crown FM and Crown TV.

The Singer made the big announcement during a star-studded event where he was celebrating 20 years in the music industry.

 

King Kiba’s TV and radio stations will pose as competition to his rival Diamond Platnumz’s Wasafi TV and Wasafi FM.

Some of the big names that were at the event include former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, Ommy Dimpoz, KRG the Don, Fredrick ‘Sky Walker’ Bundala, Hsshim Ibwe, Yogo, Man Watr, Mr Blue, Mwijaku, Nana Dollz, Popat, Kajula, Hamisa Mobetto, AY, Dulla Makabila, Majizzo, Joseph Kusaga, Eric One Wash, Barnaba Classic and Nape Nnauye among others.

Speaking at the launch King Kiba said that he opted to open his own radio station to help push the Tanzanian music industry to the next level and build more artists.

 

“Media ni chombo chenye nguvu sana. Media ndio iliyonifanya kua Alikiba huyu wa leo, ila pia mimi milikua silali bila redio yangu ndogo nilitewa zawadi na baba yangu kupigwa muziki. Changamoto nilizopitia na kuamua kuleta solution kwenye media ndivyo vimenipa msukumo,” Alikiba narrated.

(Media is an avenue that has a lot of influence. Media is what made me who I am today and also as a young boy I could not sleep without listening to my small radio that I was given as a gift from my father.

The challenges that I faced when coming up are what prompted me to join the media industry and offer a solution to these ups and downs).

The singer added that his media house (Crown Media) will have four pillars; TV, Radio, Digital Services, and Events management.

President Jakaya Kikwete who was the guest of honour at the event lauded King Kiba for being an inspiration to the young generation as far as music is concerned and also investments. 

“I love music in general and when Bongo flava came, I also loved it. I have loved all the artists who have pushed the genre this far and one of them is Alikiba I’m happy that he is celebrating 20 years in the game and we wish him all the best.

 Also, I will ask him to keep on pushing,” Jakaya Kikwete said.
