On June 25th, 2024, different business people suffered huge losses after a section of protesters of the Anti-finance bill looted their businesses.

Several supermarkets, shops, and hotels were looted from Nairobi to Nyeri, and Nakuru to Bungoma.

A Quick Mart supermarket in the Central Business District (CBD) was among those that were looted. Properties were also destroyed in the process.

These protests were primarily against President William Ruto's Finance Bill but later turned chaotic in different parts of the country.

The looting incident reflected the broader unrest in Nairobi and other parts of Kenya, where demonstrators took to the streets to voice their opposition to the proposed tax increases and other measures in the Finance Bill.

People were seen coming out of the supermarket with very valuable.

On other occasions, police officers were seen trying to calm the situation down.

This situation brought alot of tension to business people around Nairobi CBD forcing them to close their shops due to the risk of being robbed by goons.

According to witnesses, the security guards at Quick Mart tried to prevent the goons from entering the supermarket but their efforts were in vain.
