All roads led to Eldoret over the weekend where fans got hooked by performances from rappers Ssaru, Fathermoh and Khaligraph Jones. Kwambox was the MC of the night.

The artistes were engaging fans in the 'hook' platform which is designed to empower Kenyan youth in the areas of technology, career, and culture.

World record holder for the 1500 metres and mile, Faith Kipyegon also graced the event to encourage the youth.

"I'm so glad to be here tonight. It is not easy but we've had to believe in ourselves. Like me, I started barefooted but right now I am wearing Nike."

Uasin Gishu county Governor Jonathan Bii was also in attendance.

The launched platform focuses on three key hooks; technology, career, and culture, the platform aims to nurture and support the aspirations of the Gen Z demographic and transform their lives by being a technology enabler, through offering access to custom-made offerings that will leverage extensive mobile network.

"Through Hook, we aim to provide a platform for young Kenyans seeking inspiration, opportunities, and a sense of belonging in a constantly evolving world. As the name suggests, we want to create a lasting connection with a generation that has unique needs,” said Peter Ndegwa, CEO, Safaricom PLC.
