American rapper Megan Thee Stallion was poised to experience a career highlight today as she was set not only to host but also perform on Saturday Night Live, but a pair of burglars decided to throw the rapper off course.
The 'Body" hitmaker took to tweet to announce that she would be taking a break after her Los Angeles home was broken into and ransacked by a pair of masked thieves.
While Megan was in New York the burglars' wearing hoodies and gloves smashed a glass door at the back of Meg's pad giving them access inside.
They then made their way into her bedroom and ended up taking hundreds of thousands in goods.
According to reports from law enforcement, the men went into the primary bedroom and took an estimated $300-$400K (an estimate of 48.3 million Kenyan shillings) in jewelry, cash, and electronics from inside the home.
In her tweet addressing the burglary Meg highlighted that she was tired physically and emotionally thus the need to cancel SNL.
"Material things can be replaced but I am glad everyone is safe.
Hotties I am really sorry but after SNL I really got to take a break. I am so tired, physically and emotionally." Meg's tweet read.
At this time, police have not made any arrests, but there is home surveillance of the break-in, and detectives are working to obtain more video and evidence from neighbors that could help them catch those responsible.
Megan was away prepping for Saturday Night Live as rehearsals for artists appeared to begin as early as Tuesday.
Despite the break-in and tremendous loss in material, the artist is still in a celebratory mood after she was nominated for favorite female hip hop artist of the year at the American Music Awards.
