Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has faulted President William Ruto's government over the ongoing case of controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie.

Speaking on Thursday, he alleged that Ruto’s government has caused Kenyans to suffer from depression resulting in deaths around the country.

“I want to confidently say that this government is worse than pastor Mackenzie,” Babu said.

“The facts speak for themselves if the government has continuously refused to reduce the cost of living, offer free university education, to even give help. As of now, comrades cannot get help, some deaths are happening in this country because of this government. Because of depression, because of frustrations.”

He said that President Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua don’t mean what they say.

“As of now, the government is at dysfunctional equilibrium. Things are very hot. And the words that Ruto and Rigathi are saying are inversely proportional to their actions,” Babu said.

He added that the only person who can cure the country of the awful acts is Azimio leader Raila Odinga who is expected back in the country today (Friday).

“And the good news is that Baba is coming with a cure. And the cure will be better imagined than experienced. Baba is coming with the cure to reduce the cost of living,” Babu said.

“The cure to ensure that there is free secondary education, the cure to ensure that the government will comply with what they said about offering free health to Kenyans. The cure to ensure that the price of fuel is reduced.”

He added that they will be going back to demonstrations since Kenya Kwanza is showing bad faith towards the bipartisan talks.

“Maandamano is coming back because the government is not coming to the table in good faith. They are not coming in clean hands. They are coming in bad faith,” Babu said.

“By virtue that they are giving a member of Azimio who is in Jubilee an opportunity to represent them as Kenya Kwanza in bipartisan talks. That is in bad faith. And when you eat with the devil in the dark, you use a long fork.”
