Celebrated genge artist Mejja has revealed the selfless reason why he doesn't flaunt his wealth online and tries to keep it as simple as he possibly can.

The "Kanairo Dating," hitmaker while talking to YouTuber Presenter Ali revealed that he refrains from flaunting his extravagance for the sake of his followers who don't have it all.

Mejja feels it would make him insensitive to come online and flaunt his wealth yet people who have helped him attain a percentage of that wealth are struggling.

“I have followers on social media who are sleeping hungry,” Mejja candidly told Presenter Ali.

The rapper went on to highlight one of his favourite mantra's that has helped keep him humble and his blessings flowing.

“Usionyeshe Mungu tumbo yako,” Mejja told Presenter Ali revealing that that is his personal mantra. The expression loosely translates to “Don’t expose God’s blessings.”

He also revealed another reason for humility is the fact that everything he has is through God's blessings and he'd love to encourage his fans and followers as opposed to depressing them with what they can't attain.

“It doesn’t make sense, and again, I think it is God who has given the power to have those followers, not to make them feel hopeless but to give them hope with what I am doing.” Mejja firmly said.

This comes at the height of what is being referred to as "the Sonko Challenge" after former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko flaunted 30 million in cash at the comfort of his house.

Other celebrities joined in showing off section of their wealth in bundles of cash.
