Tanzanian actress and beauty queen Wema Sepetu has opened up on battling depression and suicidal thoughts.

Wema revealed that being a celebrity and constantly in the media's eye and lens has a lot of pressure to it.

She maintained that ever since she broke into the limelight 17-years-ago her life has been filled with pressure from all fronts. Wema opened up about her struggles while at a recent interview with Clouds TV.

“Since 2006 to date it’s always been a lot of pressure for me. Many bad things are always said about me, yet at the same time so little of my success or good is ever uttered," started off the former Miss Tanzania faulting the media for only telling one side of the story.

Wema went on to toot her own horn implying that if most of her critics were in her shoes they would have already given up and given in to the claws of depression.

"Most people always tend to think that I am weak but if they were in my shoes, they would have died a long time,” Wema said in a recent interview with Clouds TV.

The former beauty queen followed it up by revealing that there have been tough moments when she also almost lost the battle.

“There are times I want to make some very bad decisions but then again there is always this inner voice that keeps warning me,” Wema revealed.

This comes in just 2 weeks after Wema revealed that vying for a political seat led to her downfall thus why she isn't as wealthy as she ought to be.

Wema maintained she didn't squander her man on a lavish lifestyle contrary to popular belief.

The 30-year-old in an interview with Manara TV admitted at the moment she can't afford to drive a luxury car despite her numerous past success.

Wema disclosed she spent over sh18 million campaigning for the Singida MP seat back in 2015 but sadly she lost, which took her back to square one as she had used up her life savings as well as money she'd received as funding from donors.
