Kenyans came together for a musical celebration of Sauti Sol and Boyz II Men Saturday, June 10th. The affair went down at the Uhuru Gardens where the festivities went down.
Gates to the venue opened to excited fans at 4 pm, where they proceeded to check tickets.
Once inside drinks and food were in plenty sold before the highly anticipated performances began. Maina Kageni was the MC for the day and took to the stage.
"Welcome, and Good Evening Nairobi. We are ready for you. All the boys are in the house?" he pleasantly roared.
Maina also laughed when he saw some couples twinning in outfits, "Mumetwin na amevaa white and he is sitting next to you, kai muhana atia (kwani mnakaa aje)," causing an outburst from the audience as he mocked them.
Kageni also added, "Ladies and Gentlemen, are you ready for Sauti Sol . As you take your short break, we love you."
This sent the female fans screaming with joy, as Maina added in a teasing manner. "Ni kama watakuoa wakitoka hapa," he told as he walked off the stage to pave the way for the boy bands.
Boy band Sauti Sol kicked off the highly anticipated concert at 7 pm on the dot with the band praising Kenyans for standing by them, while opening the show.
They promised a spectacle to behold' in a cute announcement before the first song kicked off. Boyz II Men for their part said they were thrilled to witness the pure joy from their Kenyan fans.
"Good evening everybody. How are y'all doing tonight? Needless to say we travelled a long way to be here and it's so nice, so on behalf of all I'd like to say thank you, we are Boyz II Men from Philly
We just need you to do one thing and one thing only. Enjoy yourself. Let's enjoy every moment Nairobi!! Ready?"
