Nigerian star, Davido has responded to some fans of his colleague, Burna Boy, who seemed to wish him death and insulted his late mother, Veronica Adeleke.

It had previously been reported that Burna Boy faced heavy criticism following the sudden cancellation of his highly anticipated 'Love Damini' concert at the GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands.

It was gathered that thousands of fans had thronged the 41,000-capacity arena on Saturday night, eagerly awaiting Burna Boy's unforgettable show, only to receive the disappointing news hours later that the show had been cancelled.

Fans flooded the internet insulting Burna Boy and worst of all, many seemed to drag Davido into their remarks, saying unpleasant words to him.

Via his social network page, Twitter user @Winco_3 shared a video of a large crowd of people waiting for Burna Boy in the Netherlands and wrote:

"Even Davido's funeral which would be free cannot fill this crowd."

Responding to the comments through his Twitter page, Davido could not help but express his disappointment, questioning the reasons for the statement.

He wrote, “So you want me to die? Reason being? What have I personally done wrong to you that you want me to die? Anyways I'm not going anywhere! I will live life to the fullest.”

Davido also responded to another Burna Boy fan who attacked his late mother.

He wrote: "It is very sad how civilization has changed too, inside and outside. My mother Wey died more than 20 years ago, why is she herself mentioned in this matter?"

Despite being advised to stop engaging with his critics, Davido made it clear that he has no intention of refraining from responding to the attacks directed at him.

“If no one wants to talk, I'll talk… you guys are going to hurt the wrong person one day!

Not everyone has the strength and can take it for years like I have! Me no send but one day these people will hurt the wrong person," Davido said.

The new hatred from some fans is believed to have stemmed from a statement made recently by Davido who described Burna Boy as the "new cat" in the Nigerian music industry.
