Digital content creator and social media influencer Eli Mwenda has announced he's taking a break from social media after he was physically attacked while leaving an event.

Taking to his official Instagram page Eli shared a lengthy post where he revealed some details about the fateful night as well as update his over 108k adoring followers on his health.

"On Sunday night I was assaulted while leaving an event. During the attack, I did not retaliate. This assault resulted in my face being sliced open," said the Man Talk KE podcast host.

Eli detailed that the assault had left him terribly scared and that is why he was taking a break from social media, highlighting he couldn't shoot content while in the state he currently was.

"I have had to have surgery to avoid any permanent scaring. It has impacted my work schedule meaning l'll be unable to shoot content until my face fully heals," Eli announced.

Finishing up, he maintained that he wouldn't be naming any names as he was trying to protect his assaulter's image, a move that has left so many confused.

Eli defended his decision by highlighting he didn't want the individual judged on one poor decision and that he had fully forgiven the said individual.

"I have decided not to name him publicly, as I don't believe he should be defined by one poor decision.

Although I forgive him wholeheartedly on a personal level. I have still followed all official channels to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

I shall be taking a short social media break as I focus on my health and mental well-being. I look forward to getting back to what I love doing, creating content for you.

Have a beautiful week ahead. Eli," the last of his post read.

He captioned the post, "I’ll be back really soon ❤️"
