Police in Nyeri are investigating claims by a man who surrendered to authorities claiming he killed his employer aged 70 in 2019.

The murder of Stephen Ngari on October 12, 2019 in Kimahuri area remained unsolved.

On September 6, the suspect who was the deceased’s employee walked to Narumoru police station and told police he killed Ngari.

The suspect alleged that he was employed by the deceased and upon his termination on October 11, 2019, he decided to kill his employer.

He told police he sold the cabbages that were on the farm of the deceased man before fleeing the area.

Police discovered the body a day after the incident and the matter has been pending investigation.

The suspect was detained ahead of his arraignment.

Police said they would ask for more days to detain the suspect as they interrogate him for more information.

Meanwhile, police in Likoni, Mombasa are investigating the murder of a 25-year-old man whose body was found on the roadside.

The body of Matano Rashid was found with deep cuts on the head in Makika area after he had been killed.

Police said the deceased was a bodaboda operator in the area and that they are yet to establish the motive of the murder.

A probe into the incident is ongoing. Most of the bodaboda operators are targeted for their motorcycles and those who resist are killed or seriously injured.

Police advise riders to always cooperate with the attackers.

Many cases of murder pend under probe as police struggle with the surge of the same.

Police say some murder incidents are  difficult to stop as they are planned by the assailants.
