Netizens have been left confused and in a state of trance after a video surfaced online highlighting a bizarre incident leading up to days before Nigerian rapper Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad died.
In an eerie video shared online just a few days after news broke about the young Nigerian singer's sudden passing, Mohbad can be seen holding a candlelight ceremony for himself.
A video of the street-pop artist holding a candlelight procession for himself weeks before his untimely death has sparked reactions.
In the viral clip, a group of young men are seen casually walking onto the stage where Mohbad is set to perform while holding candles in their arms.
The said men are dressed in white across-the-shoulder robes. They stand in line holding up the candles for a few seconds before the Afro-street pop star walks on stage for an electric performance.
The circumstances surrounding the singer's death are still unclear, and netizens have made calls for a more in-depth investigation into his sudden demise.
His wife Omowunmi, while eulogizing him yesterday evening, September 14th, 2023, revealed that the rapper had been struggling and lived in a constant state of worry up until his death.
In a series of posts she shared on her Instagram page Wunmi went on to state that her late husband endured pains constantly and had lost his spark long before his death.
"This ni**a struggled till death, too many pains, he has always lived with fears, continuous fights everywhere he goes too. He has never been happy for a whole day."
According to The Guardian Nigeria, post on social platform X (formerly Twitter) indicated that Mohbad had reported assault and threat to his life in a letter dated June 27, 2023.
Confirming news that the 27-year-old entertainer had indeed passed his family released a statement noting that their loved one is finally at peace. Another detail that has left fans confused.
“Mohbad was Light until the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, the family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
