Digital content creator and media personality Anita Nderu is highlighting the benefits of having an electric car as opposed to conventional fuel-powered rides.

According to the mother of one, she is super elated that her husband convinced her they get an EV because not only is it economical when it comes to consumption it is also great for the environment.

Sharing on her Instagram stories, Anita highlighted that their car in terms of consumption had cost them only Sh. 22,000 for the entire year! What a steal! That is some people's weekly fuel consumption pay, crazy right?

Anita maintained that the cost highlighted was super accurate as they had their own meter installed in the building thus they did the recharging themselves as opposed to paying at the charging stations, another detail that has made maintaining the car very economical for them.

"Grateful to B for insisting we buy an electric vehicle (EV), We had to get our own meter installed in the building. Our total bill for the consumption of the car after 1 year was KSH 22,000/-," the first part of the former TV show host's post read.

Following this she shared that a lot of people had reached out to her wondering if she was serious or had had a typo in her post as they could not fathom how cheap her car's yearly expenditure was. To which she replied noting she was dead serious, noting that it could've even been cheaper if the electricity charges in the country didn't stay fluctuating.

"I've received a lot of DM's about whether I am serious, I am. And the KSH 22,000 is because of KPLC being as it has been.

It costs less to power our car in a year than it does all our appliances in a month," Anita candidly disclosed.

She went on to share that she hoped that the government would give tax breaks to Electric cars as their pros were way larger than the cons. Encouraging people who wished to jump into the EV bandwagon, Anita went on to highlight another great advantage of owning an EV disclosing that overall maintenance was a walk in the park.

As per Anita, they don't have to worry about replacing parts as the car is not affected by fuel combustion.

"I really hope our government will give tax breaks to Electric Vehicles because not only are they great for the environment, they are financially sustainable.

Maintenance is a breeze because we don't have to replace parts affected by the combustion of fuel, no noise pollution etc," the last of her post read.
