South African recording artist and reality TV star Nadia Nakai has unveiled a project she has been working on in honour of her late boyfriend Kiernan Jarryd Forbes popularly known as AKA.
Sharing across the socials the female rapper posted a snippet of a song she has been working on where she poured her heart out eulogizing her boyfriend who was fatally shot outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on February 10, 2023.
The track dubbed "Never Leave" is an emotional piece where Nadia shares how she has been trying to cope with AKA's sudden death and her bargains with God as she wishes her lover would somehow make it back to earth.
In the snippets she dropped, the BET nominee can be heard saying, "Hard to stay afloat, lying if I said I'm doing fine... it really wasn't time for you to go...I'd give all I have just to have you back...
And the day I got that news I wish you kept on this damn pendant, I'm too hard to be pretending,"

Captioning the posts she asked people to presave the song as they anticipated its release.
“Never leave. Tribute single, dropping 26th January," part of Nadia's caption read accompanied by a white dove.
She went on to wish AKA an early birthday as she shared how deeply she missed his presence.
"I Miss You. Happy Heavenly Birthday (28 January 2024)🐺💜🇿🇦," the South Afrima Award winning artist wrote.
The song, which Nadia has collaborated with fellow artist Kash CPT is scheduled for release on Friday, January 26, just two days before what would have marked AKA’s first birthday since his untimely death.
Besides the song, Nadia has been working on her album as well. Back in December the Young Famous and African star took to her X account (formerly known as Twitter) to share her excitement about an upcoming album.
She describes it as a departure from her previous work and a spiritual experience.
