Kenyan educator Tata Wekesa, is currently at her 40th hour as she battles attempting to smash and set a new Guinness World Record for the longest Science lesson taught by teaching a class for 60 hours non-stop.

To break the record, Tata is supposed to teach the class for a maximum of 50 hours, but she has decided to extend her lessons for another 10 hours making her total hours taught 60 hours thus setting a new record.

How one can talk for that long and not get bored, are just mega tired is a mystery to me. Also big up to the students attending her lectures.

Tata, a teacher at St Augustine Academy began her record attempt on Tuesday, February 13, and is supposed to keep on teaching until tomorrow,  Friday February 16.

The science teacher is currently holding her teaching session at the Multimedia University of Kenya and is confident she will ace the challenge.

In a video doing rounds on the internet, Tata Wekesa and her group of students attending the lectures could be seen dressed in white lab coats, fully immersed in the science lesson with an array of assembled apparatus.

She highlighted she had decided to pursue the project as she wanted to encourage more students to pursue science related courses.

“I decided to do this because as a teacher I do not like how science classes are packed and many students end up not fulfilling their potential. I want to show the doable and interesting side of science.

I want to motivate young ones in school who want to become teachers by showing a teacher can achieve greater things beyond the classroom,”Tata said during an interview before she began her challenge.
