Kenyan Afro-pop performer, producer, and musician Kagwe Mungai has melted netizens hearts after he shared a cute video of him showing his grandmother a sample of a new song he is working on.
On his Instagram page, the 'Hotsteppa' hitmaker shared a video of his grandmother lounging on a sofa set holding a phone on her hand as music played.
The aged lady could be seen moving her head to the beat of the song as she smiled broadly. While speaking her mother tongue, she seemingly trolled her grandson who is not well conversant in their Kikuyu language.
In the video, a proud Kagwe wrote, "she is already singing along," as his grandma smiled once the song changes from English lyrics to their mother tongue. He accompanied the caption with puppy dog eyes and a love heart emoji.
A few seconds later, his grandmother started teasing him noting that the song had very few traditional words.
"That is all you know, it is like your Kikuyu has ended," Kagwe's grandma said heartily as she chuckled. The 33-year-old artist adding translation captions to the video added, "she is trolling my Kikuyu," accompanied with laughing emojis.
Captioning the video Kagwe wrote, "showing my grandma my new song.
All trolling aside, I think she approves 😅#utuko - coming soon,"
The video won his fans hearts as they flocked the comment section to share their love as well as anticipation for the release of the full song.
