American TV Starz has made it known that the crime drama television series Power Book II: Ghost will end with its upcoming fourth season.

This took place one day after putting the prequel series Origins into development, which explores the story of James St Patrick alias Ghost and his best friend, Tommy Egan.

The characters are played by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora.

Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch led into the move when he revealed plans to contain content costs by developing more new shows versus sustaining series longer as they become more expensive.

“You look at the Power map and say, ‘OK, if I take one of those characters out and spin one of those out, I can bring that on to replace the Power show at half the cost.’ Now I’m putting a lot of money right to the bottom line. And I’m really not losing anything in terms of acquisition costs and subscriber viewership, because we know what those demos want. And we know how to line those up. And so that’s really the core of getting to that 20% margin, turning that slate over with fresh content to drive the business.”  The CEO stated.

Kathryn Busby, Starz’s president of programming said “This explosive season of Ghost is a fitting crescendo in a decade of an immensely popular franchise. Fans will not be disappointed,”

Adding, “While this marks the conclusion of one chapter, our commitment to the Power universe endures with more compelling storytelling on the horizon.”

As shared by the sources it's alleged that the final season will be broken into parts with the first one airing on June 7th and the other one on September 6th.

Starz teases that Season 4 will see Tariq played by Michael Rainey Jr and Brayden played by Gianni Paolo teaming up " against the world as they form new alliances and find their way back into the game."

Things may appear to get off track when Brayden " starts flirting with a reckless new lifestyle."

Tariq will also reportedly be left wondering if both his best friends can make it to the top of the game.

The source added that other key characters in the franchise will also face altering decisions.
