The crowned Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton has finally broken her silence over her much speculated "disappearance" finally quietening the rumours swirling across social media like a swarm of bees.

Posting on her Instagram page, the mother of 3 has revealed that she has cancer, highlighting that is the main reason she has been offline and away from the public eye.

Her post, which greatly left a large number of netizens shocked marked a profound moment of vulnerability rarely seen for the British Royal Family.

The Princess of Wales shared a heart-tugging video where she opened up about her fight against cancer. Her post comes a month after a statement that was released by Kensington Palace back on January 17, revealing that Princess Kate had been admitted for "planned abdominal surgery."

Kensington Palace failed to disclose any more information regarding her health highlighting "The Princess has a right to medical privacy, as we all do."

It now appears the Princess is ready to lay it all bare.

"I want to thank you for the wonderful messages of support we have received... especially during this incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family.

In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present," candidly stated the 42-year-old mother of 3 in the Instagram video.

She went on to share the roller-coaster of emotions and shock that the diagnosis brought her and her husband Prince William, and how they struggled to come to terms with their current reality.

Kate informed the public that they had already had a sit down with their kids and discussed her health with them in an age-appropriate manner ensuring they gave them slivers of hope that everything would be alright.

"My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment," added the princess before apologizing for the confusion her time away from the limelight brought and for editing the Mother's Day photo.
