Precision Air that crashed into Lake Victoria on Sunday morning

Celebrities have stood with families and friends of those who lost their loved ones in the Precision Air plane accident in Bukoba, Tanzania.

Tanzanian singer Ben Pol, who is the brand ambassador of the company changed his profile picture to black. The singer has also kept updating people on statements made by the company.

"Precision Air confirms that rescue operations are still ongoing we are yet to confirm the number of fatalities from the scene of the accident, involving flight PW-494 which crashed in Bukoba at Lake Victoria in Bukoba," read part of the statement.

"The aircraft, SH-PWF, ATR42-500, was flying from Dar es Salaam to Bukoba when the accident occurred at 08:53 local time. There were 39 passengers (38 Adults and 1 Infant) and 4 crew on board the flight." 

Celebrities sent their messages of condolences to families that had lost their loved ones.

Kenyan band, Sauti Sol tweeted;

"Our Prayers are with all the passengers and crew members aboard Precision Air Tz that plunged into Lake Victoria as rescue operations continue."

Zuchu wrote; "May Allah Bless our people in Bukoba."

Alikiba, together with his Kings Music label wrote;

"Kings music label management is sending their heartfelt condolences to people affected by the Precision Air accident that happened in Bukoba, Kagera."

"May God rest the souls of the departed in peace and may He comfort their family and friends."

"We are praying for the survivors that God gives them strength and restore their health."
