Tanzanian president, Samia Suluhu Hassan has promised to cater for rapper Professor Jay's kidney transplants, if need be.
The 'Zali La Mentali' rapper was hospitalized over kidney issues and the president made the promise whether a transplant will be required.
The information was passed to the rapper by their country's Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Godwin Oloyce Mollel who was an official guest at the launch of the the rapper's foundation held yesterday in Mlimani City, Dar es Salaam.
Suluhu also contributed Tshs Mil. 50 to the Professor Jay Foundation.
In a past interview with Clouds TV, the rapper said while he was in hospital, the issue worsened when he could no longer breathe and was taken into ICU.
"Ingawa magonjwa ni mawaidha watu wanasema , lakini watu wanakufa sana, kwa mimi niliyekaa ICU siku 127, unajua kule ICU watu hali zao mbaya sana, kujikuta ICU na una- survive siku 127 sio mchezo"he said
Jay said the treatment was not cheap because he would get two injections a day each costing five million Tanzanian shillings (Ksh 302,700)
"Kuna sindano nilikuwa nachona kwa siku Milioni Tano asubuhi na Jioni. Ile sindano ndio iliyoniamsha. Nilikuwa nachoma mara Tano kwa wiki. Kwa wiki Mil. 25.
Nilichoma kwa wiki moja kila siku mara Mbili. Nilichoma sindano 10 ni mil 50. Hiyo ni sindano tu, bado kusafisha figo, (dialysis) ukianzia pale Muhimbili ni Laki na Themanini kwa mgonjwa anayetoka nje ni Laki Tatu na Nusu. Hiyo ni mara moja na unatakiwa ufanyiwe hadi mara Nne kwa wiki kutokana na tatizo lako."
