Jacque Maribe's house in Langata's Royal Park estate is  at the centre of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Monicah Kimani.

Monicah who was buried on Friday in Gilgil was discovered in her posh apartment with her throat slit.

Maribe's fiance Jowie - real name Joseph Irungu was arrested as a prime suspect and the TV news anchor was questioned and subsequently arrested for the same crime.

She will be detained at Gigiri police station for 11 days as the police continue with their investigation.

At the centre of the whole drama is Maribe's six bedroom house with a servant's quarter in Lang'ata's Royal Park Estate. It is well built and excellently finished.

The rent for houses in that area go for a cool Ksh 180,000 per month.

According to the police, Jowie may have burnt his bloody kanzu at the backyard of the palatial house.

“Some of the key exhibits in the case i.e Kanzu and a jacket were partly burnt at the residence of the respondent and it believed that this was done with the respondent's full knowledge,” reads the affidavit.

Here are photos of the burnt evidence found in the compound.

Later that night, Jowie showered and went out to meet with Jacque and her pals at Kiu Lounge in Westlands.

Police believe that it was while en route to the house that police believe Jowie might have confided in Maribe what had transpired.

Police also believe Maribe may have fully been aware of at least some of Jowie's actions but tried to cover them up in a bid to save her fiance.

Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti said they had arrested Maribe for being an accessory to the murder.

"It seems she knew about all these but all she has been doing is trying to cover up for the suspect. We don't know why," said Kinoti.

It is reported that both Jowie and Jacque got into a heated argument that lead to Jowie shooting himself in Jacque's toilet.

After he shot himself, Maribe said he rushed out to a house belonging to another suspect.

The suspect whose name has been concealed told the police that Jowie woke him up and told him to go and secure the gun at Maribe's house.

The suspect rushed to the house and found a bullet of 9mm and one spent cartridge on the floor at the entrance to the master bedroom.

There was also the earlier mystery of a bullet found in her house and a gun with several bullets later recovered in the house of a neighbour, Brian Kassaine Spira, where Irungu had reportedly taken the weapon for "safe custody".

Kasaine is the owner of a popular bar in the city is also in police custody.
