Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa has announced a comeback of Safaricom's free birthday bundles.

This is after the 1GB birthday bundle was unavailable prompting users to raise questions on the offer.

Speaking at Radio 47 on Tuesday, Ndegwa said the telecommunication network will celebrate their customers on their special days.

"The 1GB birthday bundle is something that we want to continue to reward our customers during their birthdays. It is one thing that I will look at if it is not being given, the 1GB birthday bundles will be brought back," he said.

Safaricom has been gifting 1GB of data to its users during their birthdays.

It was launched on October 25, 2018, in a service dubbed 'Safaricom Anniversary Service' or 'The Service'.

Safaricom responded to a user who inquired why she has not been receiving the birthday bundles.

The telecommunication network said the service had been temporarily suspended pending improvements.

"Hello Jan. Our apologies, the birthday bundle promotion has been temporarily halted to allow for improvement on the same. Once resumed, we will alert our subscribers. Have a good one," the network operator said.

The Service also offers subscribers under prepay and postpay an opportunity to make voice calls at affordable rates on their birthday.

It also offers calls and data to users celebrating 10 years and more on the network.
