On today’s morning show, Kwambox discussed disaster reduction efforts in Nairobi County.

"A citizen lamented about last year’s incident when the market burned down. Leaders came and promised to provide compensation and rebuild the market, but we never saw any follow-through,” Kwambox reported.

Kwambox also addressed the inadequate response from the county during the fire, noting that even basic services like water were difficult to access. “Take a listen to this clip,” Kwambox added.

A victim of the fire shared, “The four who died were with us. I thank God I survived alone; I don’t know why God spared me. I could have been carried away in a sack like the others. We were stuck until the last moment. My father called me, telling me the fire was spreading.”

The victim continued, explaining that if it hadn't been for her husband’s intervention, she too would have perished in the fire. She added that she initially thought the four who died were behind her, but sadly, they could not escape the flames.
