On yesterday's drive show, Mwalimu Rachel and Xclusive discussed the decline in recognition and support for the Kenyan Olympic team, highlighting how it no longer has the prestige it once did.

"Olympics ilikuwa tukienda, we knew names even before you go there: there was Ezekiel Kemboi, David Rudisha, Azbel Kiprop. We knew of them. Right now, just tell me five athletes who are running in the Olympics," Xclusive said.

Mwalimu Rachel then mentioned the athletes she knew, but she couldn't recall Faith Kipyegon's second name, illustrating how the recognition of the Kenyan Olympic team has diminished.

"We played rugby at the Olympics, I think we only won one game. If I ask you to name three players from that team..." Xclusive prompted. Mwalimu Rachel admitted she didn't have a clue who they were.

"That is because we are the ones who are out of touch. We are not as loyal nowadays when it comes to going for their games, going for their trials, going for all these events where they want us to come and cheer them on. Maybe we have also slacked," Mwalimu Rachel said.

"You know how I look at it, Xclusive? I think the Kenyan athletes are there, but they are just running for other countries. In fact, they are the ones beating us," she added.

The two then lamented how Kenyan names appear on Ugandan athlete lists, suggesting that Kenyan athletes are being recruited by other countries.
